Lowcolor Threshold |
![]() |
| From
1 to 440
discriminating
color This param represents the minimum color difference between regions. EXAMPLE: use 20 for badly contrasted photographs up to 40 for well contrasted ones. |
Highcolor Threshold |
![]() |
| From
1 to 442. This
value is always superior or equal to lowcolor threshold. This param preserves high colors zones. The first image has a high color = 440 and the second one high color = 61 (other parameters equals) As you see, VectorEye preserves high color zones included in low color zones. The number of paths goes from 135 paths to 2696 paths !!! |
Mini Area |
![]() |
| From
1 to 100.
Areas are excluded from the final result. EXAMPLE: For an image 500×500, 10 corresponds to small details, 50 for big ones. In the first image, mini area is equal to 20 and in the second one mini area is equal to 100. Some zones have disappeared in the second image. |
Progressive Threshold |
![]() |
| This parameter is used create progressive color paths when the colors are in the same range of colors. There is more paths with this parameter "on" than "off". The global feeling is a more contrasted image with this parameter "off" |
Color Mixing |
![]() |
| This parameter is used to
analyze the
differences between the colors of two (or more) joining paths. In the first image the parameters are "no mixing color" and "no progressive threshold". Zooming a lot, you could see that there is more paths (in this part of the image, not in the global image) in the second image and that VectorEye can select different color. Of course this analyze will have effects on curves and lines |

Absolute curve fit and relative curve fit |
![]() |
| Absolute
curve fit : Gives
the
maximum error in pixels between shapes and the fitted Bezier curves.
The error given by rel curvefit depends on the length of the outline
(relative) whereas the abs curvefit is an absolute error. EXAMPLE: An
absolute error of 1 to 3 pixels is generally used. Relative curve fit : Use rel curvefit to smooth big shapes while maintaining small ones. EXAMPLE: 20 for smooth shapes, 30 for very smooth. |
Type of lines : Cubic straight and quadratic |
![]() |
| No
problems for straight
lines of course. Cubic and quadratic are 2 differents ways to represent
curves. Quadratic lines are more specific to flash format See this link for scientific explanation : http://timotheegroleau.com/Flash/articles/cubic_bezier_in_flash.htm |
Fill Areas // Stroke Width and // Stroke Color |
![]() |
| You could select to fill the paths with colors. If not, you could choose the width and the color of the stoke. |
